There’s something about a fresh start that makes me want to light a candle, crack open a new notebook (or in this case, a Substack), and dive in.

So hi! I’m Christina—mom of three, reader, writer-in-the-making, and professional bookworm based in Wellington, Florida.

1. Why this, why now?

I’ve been talking about people turning bookish passions into profits on my podcast Shelf Made Stories, and every time I hit “record,” I wish I had more space to keep the conversation going.

That’s why I’m launching this newsletter—to create a cozy corner of the internet where book lovers can connect, discover incredible reads, and geek out over literary lives well-lived.

And why now? Because the world feels a little loud (for lack of a better word) lately, and I believe there’s something powerful about slowing down with a story, especially the kind that makes you forget you left laundry in the washer three days ago.

This is my way of sharing joy, curiosity, and maybe even a few bathtub book recommendations (no shame if yours has water wrinkles—we’ve all been there).

2. What kind of community am I building?

This space is for the unapologetic bookworms, the late-night page-turners, and the curious creatives wondering, “Could I turn my love of books into something more?”

We’re not just talking about what to read. We’re diving into the why behind the books and the amazing humans bringing them to life.

I’m talking bookstore founders, book bus drivers (yes, that’s real), subscription box curators, paid book club creators… you name it. If they’re building a business around books, I want to talk to them… and share their story with you.

This will be a chill, supportive, inspiring spot.

Kind of like your favorite local indie bookstore, but with fewer tote bags and more digital hugs.
